UPS (United Parcel Service) is a global logistics provider operating in over 220 countries and territories. This article focuses on specific information regarding a custom UPS contract in Retino.
Supported Shipping Types with UPS
Pickup - a UPS courier will pick up the package at the customer's address
The UPS API currently does not support Drop-off (delivery to a branch) as a selectable shipping type within the Retino Portal.

UPS supports shipping between all EU countries in both directions.

Specific Setup Steps
In the Settings > Shipping section, add a new contract and select UPS Pickup
Enter the Username, Password, and Merchant ID
Specific UPS Pickup Process
The process of ordering shipping with UPS involves two main steps:
Creating a shipment in the UPS system (you will receive a tracking number)
Ordering pickup based on the created shipment and selected date
Troubleshooting Specific UPS Issues
Cannot Connect to API
If you encounter a connection error to the API:
Verify the accuracy of the entered credentials
Ensure you have the necessary access rights to the UPS API within your contract
Specific Shipment Tracking Information
Thanks to the UPS API integration, shipment statuses are automatically updated and visible directly in the Retino ticket detail. The shipment and pickup order can be cancelled until the courier has picked up the package.

Specific Limitations
Note: The UPS API in the current Retino implementation does not support drop-off as a selectable shipping type with branch selection. A customer can, of course, deliver a package to a UPS branch, but the branch selection process is not automated in the portal as with other carriers.
