InPost is a Polish logistics provider specializing in package delivery and automated drop-off points (Paczkomat). This article focuses on specific information regarding the InPost custom contract in Retino.

Supported Shipping Types with InPost

  • ParcelPoint (drop-off) - the customer delivers the package to an InPost drop-off location

  • Courier (courier pickup) - an InPost courier picks up the package at the customer's address

Supported Shipping Directions

From → To: PL → PL

InPost currently only supports shipping within Poland.

Note: Although InPost operates in other countries (UK, IT, FR, ES), the integration via API in Retino is optimized only for the Polish market.

Specific Setup Steps

  1. In the Settings > Shipping section, add a new contract and select the desired InPost shipping type:

    • InPost ParcelPoint - for drop-off delivery

    • InPost Courier - for courier pickup

  2. Enter the obtained Token into the access data field

Tip: If you intend to use both InPost shipping types (ParcelPoint and Courier), a separate contract is required for each type.

Special Feature - Asynchronous Courier Ordering

For InPost Courier, please note that the API does not support immediate courier ordering:

  1. The shipment is created in the InPost system

  2. Courier pickup is scheduled for the evening before the scheduled pickup date

  3. The system automatically creates the courier order in the evening hours

This feature may cause a delay between shipment creation and actual courier order placement. Retino automatically handles this behavior.

Troubleshooting InPost Issues

Cannot Connect to API

If you encounter a connection error to the API:

  • Verify the entered token

  • Ensure the token is not expired (tokens have a limited validity)

Specific Information on Shipment Cancellation

For InPost ParcelPoint, shipments cannot be cancelled via API. For InPost Courier, you can cancel the pickup order via API if it hasn't been confirmed yet (before the evening of the day before the scheduled pickup).

Specific Information on Branch Map in Portal

When integrating InPost ParcelPoint, an interactive map with InPost drop-off points will automatically appear in the customer portal's shipping selection step. Drop-off types may include:

  • Paczkomat - automated self-service drop-off box

  • POP (Point of Pickup) - staffed drop-off location (e.g., a store)
