The Delivery Time section provides a detailed view of the delivery time for your shipments. You'll find comprehensive metrics and graphs to better understand and optimize delivery times for an improved customer experience.

Important information for measuring delivery time:

  • Weekends are not included in the calculation. For example, a shipment sent on Friday and delivered on Tuesday is considered delivered in D+2.

  • For courier shipments, the delivery time is considered the time the package is handed over at the address.

  • For shipments to a drop-off point (parcelshop, post office), the delivery time is considered the delivery to the drop-off point. The time the package waits for customer pickup is measured separately.

Key Delivery Metrics

At the top of the overview, you'll find four key metrics summarizing delivery performance:

1. Average Delivery Time

This metric shows the average time from order creation to delivery of the shipment to the destination address or drop-off point. It's a key indicator of the overall efficiency of the delivery process.

2. P95 Delivery Days

The 95th percentile of delivery time tells you how many days it takes to deliver 95% of your shipments. This metric is important for realistically setting customer expectations regarding delivery time.

3. Median Delivery Days

The median provides the middle value of delivery time, unaffected by extreme values. It's a reliable indicator of the typical delivery time for your shipments.

4. Delivery Rate

The percentage of successful deliveries. This metric is crucial for evaluating the overall reliability of the delivery process.

Shipment Volume Over Time Graph

The time graph displays the number of shipments over a selected period. This interactive tool helps you:

  • Identify trends and seasonal fluctuations in shipment volume

  • Track delivery peaks and analyze their causes

  • Compare performance across different time periods

Delivery Time Analysis

The overview includes three key graphs for detailed delivery time analysis:

1. Average Time in Transit (Avg in transit)

Displays the average time from when the carrier takes possession of the shipment until delivery to the address or drop-off point. This metric helps evaluate the efficiency of the actual transport and the performance of the carriers.

2. Average Order-to-Delivery Time (Avg order-to-delivery)

Measures the total time from order creation to shipment delivery. It includes the entire process, including order processing and preparation for shipment. This metric is crucial for understanding the overall efficiency of the logistics process.

3. Average Days at Destination Branch (Avg days at destination branch)

Shows how long, on average, shipments wait at the drop-off point for customer pickup. This metric is important for optimizing communication with customers and properly dimensioning the capacity of the branches.

Delivery Time Distribution

For each of the above metrics, a detailed distribution is available, showing the distribution of delivery times in individual days (excluding weekends):

1. In transit distribution

Shows what percentage of shipments are delivered on individual days from when the carrier takes possession. The graph shows that most shipments are delivered on the day of pickup (D+0) or the next business day (D+1). This information is crucial for:

  • Optimizing transport processes

  • Identifying problematic cases with long transit times

  • Setting appropriate customer expectations

2. Order-to-delivery distribution

Provides an overview of the total processing and delivery time for orders, measured in business days. This graph helps you:

  • Identify opportunities for optimizing the entire process

  • Track the impact of various factors on the overall delivery time

  • Evaluate the efficiency of individual process phases

3. Days at destination branch distribution

Shows how long shipments typically wait for customer pickup after delivery to the drop-off point. This data is important for:

  • Optimizing storage capacity at drop-off points

  • Improving communication with customers regarding pickup

  • Reducing storage costs

  • Identifying shipments at risk of exceeding storage time

Carrier Performance Overview

At the bottom of the overview, you'll find a list of carriers with the option for detailed analysis of their performance in terms of delivery time by carrier type.

Analyzing individual delivery phases helps you:

  • Identify bottlenecks in the delivery process

  • Optimize internal processes for faster dispatch

Based on delivery time data, you can:
